Global Warming - A reality ?

So after last weekend's floods and possibly another area yet to be flooded (Along the Thames) Do you think that Global Warming is a reality ?

Personally I think that it's happening now. To get the kind of weather events that we're experiencing at the moment at this time of year is just not normal. Something's going on ...

The Environment Agency has said today that the current floods are the worst in 340 + years. And when you consider that 350,000 people in Gloucestershire and possibly more to be added in Oxon & Berks are still without running water then I think it's more than just "Freak Weather"

I don't think so. This is a recurring pattern that will get steadily worse as time goes on. A taste of things to come. If you saw BBC Breakfast News this morning the chief guy from the Met Office was on there saying that the period May - July this year is the wettest ever recorded....

The reason for all the flooding is because we keep concreting over everywhere. Years ago fields would absorb the water, but now the fields have become housing estates, shopping centres or roads, the water can't go into the ground so it floods the lower regions

Hey THICKO

The problem is that it is pissing down two months worth of rain in 24 hours - not the run off - even the non concrete fields couldn't handle that

but shit happens - "worst rainfall in RECORDED HISTORY" - I bet it rained harder in 563bc!

RedRedRobin - get over it and don't get sucked in by the press "merchant bankers" - they want a headline.
