fa cup replays
Brentford 5 Gateshead 2
Brentford secured safe passage through to the second round of the FA Cup at the expense of battling Gateshead.
Ben Strevens opened the replay scoring (42) and Charlie MacDonald thundered into open the Bees scoring (45) before Graeme Armstrong pulled one back (58).
MacDonald restored their two-goal lead (60) before a Myles Weston brace (67, 73). Armstrong grabbed his second when he poked home a Kris Gate cross (81).
Morecambe 0 Carlisle 1
Carlisle ran out victors in their FA Cup replay over Morecambe to earn a second-round tie at home to Norwich.
Joe Anyinsah grabbed the only goal of the game when he slotted home a Graham Kavanagh cross in the fifth minute.
Phil Jeavons had earlier had a shot drag inches wide before Laurence Wilson had a strike saved. Anyinsah should have doubled his side's lead but his effort was well saved by Barry Roche.
Leyton Orient 0 Tranmere 1
Tranmere secured a last-gasp win over Leyton Orient in their FA Cup first-round replay at Brisbane Road.
Defender Tamika Mkandwire had the best chance to open the scoring when he attempted an overhead kick that brought a good save from Luke Daniels.
Ash Taylor grabbed the only goal of the game when he slotted in a Shaleum Logan cross (83) before Ian Thomas-Moore had a long-range effort saved late on.
Mansfield 1 Forest Green 2
Conal Platt's last gasp strike handed Forest Green a second-round FA Cup tie against fellow non-league side Bath.
Platt had already headed against the crossbar when he fired his free-kick past Alan Marriott (40), and Luke Jones should have done better for Mansfield.
The Stags levelled when Gary Silk crossed for Kyle Perry to head home (71), only for Platt to meet Sean Riggs' cross in added time.
Stevenage 0 Port Vale 1
Louis Dodds' first-half strike was enough for Port Vale to finally see off non-league Stevenage in the FA Cup.
Vale keeper Chris Martin's fine save denied Yemi Odubade before Dodds headed Vale in front (24), and Charlie Griffin wasted a decent chance to equalise.
Mitchell Cole then clattered the post for Stevenage as Vale held on to secure a home tie with League One Huddersfield in the second round.
