Evertons Season 2005-2006

Hello to all you other members.

I am reporting on our season this year, thou we finished a lowly 11th position i think the position reflects the way we played. We started the season rather poor, Going out of both European competitions so early perhaps that had an effect on the players confidence, which came through in their performances. It may not have even been a conscious reaction, but on some level that can't have helped them in the Premiership. The wins started coming in half way thru the season and a top 6 position looked on the cards it was only the last four or five weeks that it began to stutter and we had the top half finish taken away from us. We finished one point behind Wigan who i congratulate on the way they played their footy this season and hope they have many more seasons in the top flight.
To go onto other affairs it was nice to see Duncan Ferguson scoring a last minute goal in his last game of the season before lbeen released on a free, i would have liked to see what he could have done in a full season without getting injured thou. To finish off the news today is that David Moyes is going after Wolves defender Joleon Lescott after letting on-loan Matteo Ferrari return to AS Roma.
Here's for a better season next season and i hope your as happy with your teams as i am with Everton.

I can understand you being disappointed with 11th place Toffee, on the grounds of a brilliant season the year before. It goes to show, if you have a good season and over achieve like Everton did, then the pressure builds for the following season. I believe 11th for Everton is about right for the quality of the squad at Goodison.

This is the usual position where Everton are at the end of each year Toffee, they do have the odd season where other teams playing worse than Everton give them the chance to finish in a higher position.
