MY TOP TEAMS ON EUROPEAN LEVEL

why do you place juventus before bayern munich? Munich won it four times!

and why madrid on number 1, they won it five times in an era without the offside rule!

the top 5,

1 Liverpool (they would've won it more if they werent banned for six years)
2 AC Milan
3 Ajax & Munich

No madrid for me. too much fuss about nothing special.

(where is Nottingham Forest? they won it twice; just like Man Utd; Juve and Barca)

In the opening thread i put Europe and also the clubs own country Junkie.

What has the offside rule got to do with anything? Real have won the Number 1 competition in Europe more times than any other club.
They've won the European Cup 4 times more than Liverpool, the domestic league 12 times more than Liverpool, and the domestic Cup 10 times more than Liverpool. Granted Liverpool have won the UEFA Cup once more than Liverpool.
I think it's time to take those red tainted glasses off Junkie and see the world.

1. Real Madrid (European Cup 9 times, UEFA 2 times, La Liga 30 times, Copa Del Rey 17 times)

2. AC Milan EC 7 times, Uefa 2 times, Serie A 17 times, Coppa Italia 5 times

3. Liverpool EC 5 times, Uefa 3 times, League 18 times, FA Cup 7 times

Hi all.
Nice post, Beefy.
I would like to put the Barcelona first of all but I am honest and I do not put it, believe that R.Madrid might occupy the first place but also I must say that they obtained 5 consecutive cups many years ago, then the teams were not like now.
That's why my first team would be the Milan.

1. AC Milan
2. R.Madrid
3. Barcelona
4. Bayern Munich
5. Manchester United
6. Ajax

Kind Regards

If I add Besiktas there would it be too optimistic?

Few league and Turkish FA cups and recent Liverpool and Chelsea wins.

i think its time for you to put things into their context

if you win it five times in the fifties, an era without offsiderule etc, you cant claim your title as europes greatest
if liverpool hadnt been banned for six years, the wouldve won it more than 5 times.

the fact that liverpool only won the domestic league 18 times, shows how competitive the english top flight is and was. Anderlecht won the domestic league 30 times, does that mean that their history is bigger.

Liverpool was the dominant club of an era with dominant english teams, that makes them kind of extradominant and probably the greatest team ever in europe.

its not hard to see that, is it?

If you want to put things into context then what about the following:

1. Liverpool were banned for 6 years because it was LIVERPOOL who rioted causing the disaster at the Hysel Stadium. Granted many other factors come into it but the bottom line lays with Liverpool and Juventus fans.

2. You keep going on about the offside rule, the game has changed over the years Junkie and will continue to do so.

3. How can you say Liverpool would have won it more if the hadn't been banned, that's a big IF.

4. Anderlecht have won the Belgian League 30 times but never done much in Europe.

I believe that placing Liverpool 3rd in the list of clubs is a fair reflection on the success of the club, and i think you're blinded by biased loyalty to your club.

If you want to go down this path, you could also say that The Busby Babes, had they not tragically died in 1958, would've had a big say in Real Madrid winning the first 5 trophies. But you obviously can't so why not just do it objectively and in the nature it's intended....FUN.
