Was Beckham worth his 100th cap

Having sat through the torture that was the England team performace last night which I have to say was a complete waste of time. The starting England eleven did look as if they could do something, eventually, some reasonable possesion and passing but only attempt on target.

The second half starts with several changes Rooney and Gerrad off, Gerrard comes back out in a suit so he must have known he was only playing one half.

Anyway for me one thing stood out, well didn't David Beckham, sure he is one of the best crossers of the ball in the game but can England really afford to carry such a player? I did see him back track and make a tackle in the first half, but after that very little really. I can't see how you can play the equivilent of League 2 football one game then play for England in the next one. Beckham has now got his 100th cap lets, let him go and allow new players playing in the top flight of Europeon football a place in the England team.

I won't even start on about david james and the penalty.........

I watched the first 15 minutes of the game, then turned it off simply because i can't do with the current players who turn out for England. There's James in goal, who plays well for Pompey but has been shite for 15 years before that. Ashley Cole makes me just want to punch him, Ferdinand,Brown and Hargreaves play for scum. I can put up with John Terry, Joe Cole, and Gareth Barry , Gerrard is a waste of space in an England shirt and i detest Rooney. Beckham is more a marketing machine than a footballer but at least his 100th cap is out of the way now, maybe our so called superstars can concentrate on reaching the next world Cup, they've nothing to do til then have they.
