Beckham out of England squad
David Beckham has been left out of Fabio Capello's first England squad to play Switzerland on 6 February.
It means Beckham will be left still searching for his 100th cap, although Capello has not fully closed the door on the 32-year-old former captain.

Should David Beckham be given his 100th England cap for sentiments sake, even if it's as substitute for the last five minutes of a friendly?

It wouldnt have hurt to put him on for the last few minutes but can understand why the manager has arrived at his decision - With all the crap we have we need to rebuild for the future and no room for sentiment.

International football is not about sentiment, Beckham shouldn't be picked just because he's one cap short of his century. Graham Taylor dropped Gary Lineker when the time was right, he didn't let him play until he got the goal that would've beaten the all time goalscoring record. david beckham is a marketing machine who's sold out to the Americans, why should Cappello massage his ego by giving him another cap. Cappello will stand and die by his decisions and results, he hasn't got time for sentiment
