Capello ready for job
Fabio Capello looks certain to be named the new England manager in the next few days.
_44293439_capelloafpindex203.jpg Do you think it's a good appointment ?

Do you want Rafa Benitez to be the England manager lads honestly? If that happened I would seriously think of leaving the country. He does have an outstanding European record with Liverpool yes, BUT he is the reason that Liverpool will not be winning the Premiership this season.
I have said before and I'll say again Liverpool will NEVER win the Premiership while he's in charge. I'll have Fabio Capello any day of the week rather than Rafa Benitez, he is a tinkerman almost as bad if not worse than Claudio Ranieri. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I have no problem with that, but Rafa Benitez as EnglaNd manager NOT FOR ME. |

rafa benitez outthought capello in 2005. benitez is THE example of a championship manager! does england have to play in competitions like the premier league? no! England plays championships!
benitez could win win with england the world cup like he did with liverpool, not capello. besides, capello cant speak english. comon darren, give arguments instead of accusations. |

he got us in the final in the first place, outwitted mourinho and rijkaard in the process.
The final in 2005 (again outwitted maureen , plus capello! and he got us in the final!) 3-3, a bit lucky, yes. But that's one game, one! if i look at man utd v Milan, the game man utd lost 3-0, do i have the right to say that fergie is incompetent? no i havent. Do you recall the quarterfinals against Juve? i do, and liverpool played magnificent. Do you recall the CFC semies, liverpool held on and went through. you're not talking about that mate. England never made it to the semies in the last 20 years! Plus we werent beaten on tactics in the final this year, proving that your point is weak. A lucky free kick was the thing that seperated the two teams. So your point isnt proven at all. Benitez is a tactical genius and would do wonders with england. you have to come with stronger arguments than two EU cup finals. |

We can go on and on about this all day mate, my personal opinion is that Rafa Benitez is the LAST person I want as England manager. Just before I finish on this though I'll make a prediction. While Rafa Benitez is Liverpool manager you will NEVER win the Premiership, mark my words. I will be proved right.

Fabio Capello is set to sign a deal as England manager later today as his former player Ruud Gullit insisted that the Italian will make the national team a success - but not playing "sexy football".
Capello is reported to be flying into London on Wednesday for talks with the Football Association with a view to succeeding Steve McClaren. Los Angeles Galaxy manager Gullit, who played under Capello at Milan in the 1990s, is confident the 61-year-old disciplinarian will be a success as England boss - but at a cost. "He doesn't play for the beauty of the game, but to win," the Dutchman said. "Would they play sexy football? No, I do not think so. "You don't see him laughing much - he's moody. But he knows what he wants. You have to go his way or you will get in trouble. He screams at you. "You need to be well-drilled to play for him - very disciplined - and you certainly don't fool around with him, that's for sure." Gullit insists the initial focus for Capello would be making sure England are watertight defensively. "Italians are all about looking good, defending your reputation. When you've got that you become very hard to beat. If you become that clinical, you don't even have to play well to win - that's how come they have won so many championships." Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who played under Capello at Real Madrid when they won the Spanish league title in 1997, concurs with Gullit that the Italian is a no-nonsense boss. "He's a tough guy, very straight. He's very dedicated. Of course it has been quite a while since I worked with him in Madrid, but I think he has much more experience now than 10 years ago," Seedorf said. "He was then already one of the best coaches I've ever had." Seedorf confirmed Capello had told him he was very interested in doing the England job. "I was talking with him only two weeks ago about this possibility and I know he sees it as a very interesting challenge," he told the BBC. "England has quality players but results haven't really shown everybody the potential of the team. [Capello] knows that and it's a challenge for him, to go where the results are lacking and make those great players a good team." Seedorf admits the biggest test for Capello will be making the transition from club management to the more hands-off role of an international coach. "It's going to be a challenge for him also because he has always been able to communicate and train every day with the players, so it is going to be very different," he said. "One of his best qualities is getting the very best out of each player, even if he is not playing well. He is very specific in what he wants and very clear on what he wants from each player and sometimes he will push you to your limits. "He has always asked 100 percent of the players once you are on the field. He is very straight, very clear with the players. He will work with those who are committed and professional players. "He would rather have less quality but committed players than quality players who are not committed. He has been experienced [in working with] great players and still being able to get the best out of them." |
