Arsenal: Emmanuel Adebayor

Emmanuel Adebayor has announced that he intends to stay at Arsenal and will sign a contract extension.

The striker's future has been the subject of intense speculation all summer with reports suggesting that he could be ready to move on from Emirates Stadium.

A host of Europe's top clubs have been tracking his situation with Barcelona and AC Milan among those interested in signing him.

However, Adebayor has now revealed that he wants to remain with the Gunners for a long time to come.

"Now I can tell everyone that, yes, I will sign a contract," the Togo international said yesterday.

I bet Arsenal are gutted, there was talk of a £30 million bid for him. That's ridiculous money for a player who's yet to prove himself.

He proved himself allright with 24 goals last season.

Gunners are deflating enormously with the departure of Flamini, Senderos and Hleb.
