Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has quickly moved to quash reports of 24-year-old Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso moving to Real Madrid.
"There has been no truth in stories about Xabi Alonso," said Benitez. "We have had no official contact and for sure he is staying here, we do not want to sell him."
