Liverpool have turned their attention to Ajax right-back Hatem Trabelsi with their bid for Sevilla's Daniel Alves on the verge of collapsing.
Trabelsi, who played for Tunisia in this summer's World Cup in Germany, is available on a free transfer and has attracted the interest of a number of Premiership clubs.
Arsenal were close to signing him two years ago and were reported to have offered him a deal this summer, while Tottenham, Manchester City and West Ham are also interested.
The experienced defender's agent told the Daily Express: "I get calls from English clubs every day.
"Hatem wants to play in the Champions League and he is leaving Holland."
