David Villa closes door on Liverpool
David Villa will not be a Liverpool player next season according to his agent, the club president and the player himself.
It is also thought unlikely that Liverpool can afford the cost of signing the Euro 2008 leading goal scorer, Liverpool have big debts and are in the middle of transfer negotiations for Gareth Barry at Aston Villa and with Juventus over the sale of Alonso and those deals will offset each other thus leaving no funds available for David Villa.
Only recently David Villa said about Valencia
"I left the club to compete in Euro 2008 and, when it ends, I hope to be going back to Valencia,"
"I never thought about leaving before Euro 2008 and I'm not thinking about it now."
Liverpool will have to sell first before they can splash anything big out and Valencia while they have to sell do have other assets that can be offloaded like David Silva and with reassuring words of David Villa ringing in their ears the Valencia fans can be confident that David Villa will remain a Valencia player in the short term at least.
