If your going to get sent off, do it in style!

Dundee winger Andy McLaren has left the club by mutual consent after he received three red cards during last weekend's 2-1 defeat by Clyde.
McLaren, 33, saw red after lashing out at defender Eddie Malone and received a second red card after striking Michael McGowan on his way off the pitch.

He was given a third for his off-field reaction to referee Dougie McDonald.

Dundee chief executive Dave McKinnon held talks with manager Alex Rae and the player following the incident.

A statement from the Dens Park club said: "Following the disciplinary problems at Clyde FC on the 16th of December regarding our player Andy McLaren, the club and the player have held frank and open discussions regarding the matter.

"It has been mutually agreed to terminate Andy McLaren's contract forthwith.

"Whilst the club won't condone such indiscipline, it does though respect the player's willingness to accept that his actions have brought the club into disrepute, and we sincerely wish him well for the future."

Rae, meanwhile, has predicted that the Scottish Football Association would "throw the book" at the player.

McLaren, who won his one Scotland cap against Poland in 2001, includes Reading, Dundee United, Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle among his former clubs.
