Have You Been Here

Let's see how this goes. Every day i will post a different football ground, if you've visited the ground just post your name below the picture. Also tell us of any interesting tales you have.

Todays ground is simply the best club side in the worlds home, yes you've guessed it, Elland Road, home of Leeds United

This being my clubs ground i've been hundreds of times. In the late 70's and throughout the 80's it was a daunting place to come, mainly due to regular crowd trouble outside the ground. Inside nowadays the away fans get a section called the South East Corner, bigger support sometimes gets the entire South Stand. In the top photo, the yellow seats on the right is the south East, with the south stand being the blue seats in the right edge of the photo. The large stand is the East Stand, with the bottom area classed as the family stand.

I was there on 29th Feb '04 just after the late John Charles had past away and to also see Harry Kewell score a belter of a goal after being taunted by the home fans!

Went to Elland Road in the late 70's with some 'nited supporting School Mates Probably 76-77 season?
About 4 or 5 of us went on the National Express Coach, it cost less than a quid return and seemed like a cheapish day out!
Anyway after the game it got a bit lairy and we and a few others hung about hoping for a police escort. It seems the police escort with the main body of United fans had left earlier About 15 of us got followed 1 copper on a horse.
We came to a bit where there was a fence on the left and a bit of a hill on the right the whole of Yorkshire was on the hil waiting for us! Blokes in there 30's and 40's charged down at us and our police escort weht to get help(I think)!
I and a few others jumped over the fence and down a steep embankment. at the bottom was a motorway(M621 ?) we ended up in the central resevation with bricks and bottles been chucked at us! Suddenly a police car appeared, blue lighs and everything. The copper leapt out and shouted "What the ****in hell are you lot playing at?" When a brick promptly hit him on the foot !! Cue copper hoping about in the middle of a busy motorway holding his foot ! Without another word he got back in his car and shot off!
When eventually some order had been restored we went back up the embankment to find the fence we'd climbed over was about 8 feet high!
I'm convinced I cleared it in one on the downward journey! Just shows what you can do with an incentive!

Never been to Elland Rd as I don't think the Bees have played them in the last 40 odd years!

However I did visit Cpbee who lives in Leeds and thought the city had a certain "charm" to it - serious!
