Ground 2 is Manchester City, either The City Of Manchester Stadium or the Old Maine Road Ground

I've been to Maine road the old ground but not to the City Of Manchester Stadium yet. I remember the first time i was there because David Batty scored his first goal for Leeds, a screamer from about 30 yards. There used to be an old woman, i think they called her Mary who used to take a bell to the game and one of the City fans songs was Mary ring your bell. After the games at Maine Road, there was always a chance of getting ambushed by City fans. You came out into a terrace street with lots of ginnels and snickits, City fans would go down 2 of them and charge you from both ends. I enjoyed going here though, it was always a day to remember.

I went to see Man Utd play Liverpool in an FA Cup Semi in the late 70s when Dalglish and Souness were in their prime, and Altrincham v Spurs in an FA Cup replay in 78, Ardiles and Villa played for Spurs after a brilliant 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane we got beat 4-0.
Never saw City play there, but saw David Bowie in concert, he was rubbish.

Saw Oasis at the City of Mcr stadium. Now that is a great stadium, well built and nice to look at.

I went to Maine Rd a few years back (2002?) with a few mates. We used to randomly pick games and then go watch them, I cant even remember who Man City were playing, anyway, beers beforehand, some banter with some tannoy messages, and a long LONG walk into the city centre through some rather interesting local neighbourhoods for some more beers ensured a very memorable day.

I saw Bowie there aswell!

Bin a few times! Once went to a C*ty vs Leeds game in the 80's! With a mate who was one of the Guvnors ! What was I thinking

!st time I saw County play there, I couldn't get a ticket for the away end, so I bought a ticket of a tout for the Family Stand! 2 things I realised once I'd got inside..... 1, the family in question was called Adams. 2, the ticket I'd bought was a comp and for a wheelchair space
Mind you when we scored and I jumped up I did think that I might be requiring a wheelchair sometime soon!...............

Spent most my christmas bonus goin to Aldershot! 2 days before christmas either 79 or 80!
I remember the County Fans being surrounded by psychopathic skinheads just before kick off, I moved away sharpish !

The train journey home was anightmare! Changed twice to get to brum, where I spent about 3 hours! New Street late at night Satdee before Chrimbo, what fun!
Got a mail train to Stafford, waited at Stafford I was the only person on the station and the heater in the waiting room didn't work properly! Finally got a train to Manchester and then had to walk home through the snow! On arriving home at God knows what hour I realised I'd not got me key! Managed to climb throuh an upstairs window!

We were winning at half time, we lost 3-2! The round trip was probably 20 hours, I nearly got me head kicked in twice and it cost about 2 weeks wages on my meagre earnings!
Happy days
