Stead joins
Derby have signed Sunderland striker Jon Stead on loan until the new year.
The 23-year-old goes straight into the Rams squad for their trip to Plymouth on Sunday and will stay with the club until 2 January 2007.

The signing of Stead is a very good bit of business by Derby. Although he is ex Uddersfield I have always thought he is a a fantastic player. He got too much good press too soon and like all young lads sometimes they fail to deliver on a promising start (Danny Cadamartarie for one!!). I am sure he will come good though!!! Good look Staead!!

Stead should work out good for us,however having Natty go the other way disappoints me a bit I think the lad is going to be a top draw centre back given time,reminds me a little of Roy Macfarland.
