Rams sign Howard

Derby County have completed the signing of Luton Town striker Steve Howard for a fee of £1m.

Howard has agreed a three-year contract at Pride Park after spending more than five years at Kenilworth Road.

The 30-year-old is Billy Davies' first signing since taking over as the Rams manager in June.

The former Hartlepool and Northampton player becomes Derby's most expensive buy since the acquisition of Francois Grenet in November 2001.

He impressed a few people last season Toffee, he's a big strong lad with an eye for goal, and a lot cheaper than James Beattie

I know Leeds were after him Dave, it'll be interesting to see how he does this season.
