Ellington and Stewart join Derby

Derby manager Paul Jewell has snapped up Nathan Ellington and Jordan Stewart from Watford.

Jewell signed Ellington when he was in charge of Wigan and he has now picked up the striker on a one-year loan deal which will then turn into a permanent move on a free transfer.

Defender Stewart, released by the Hornets at the end of the season, has joined on a three-year contract.

I'd have thought Gren would have stayed at Doncaster for next season, to move to Derby means he was thinking of a move during the play offs, which surprises me

donny are upset that he didnt sign a new deal as they offered him a very good one. think it was around 8k-10k a week. but derby are paying more out, so its all to do with money

I suspect that this will be the first of many new signings for Paul Jewell. He'll want his own type of players in that he knows will do a good job for him and the club. I expect Derby to be challenging next season.
