The thing is though that until the new backers arrived just after xmas they didn't have the money to spend anyway. Combine that with Billy Davies's lack of prem experience and a fairly young squad and it was always going to be an uphill battle. However now they have Paul Jewell and good backing there's a good chance they'll bounce back with a squad better prepared for the prem next time.
