Ryan moves to Darlington

Boston United have sold Tim Ryan to Darlington, but have rejected a bid for fellow defender Lee Canoville.

The cash-strapped Pilgrims accepted an undisclosed bid from their League Two rivals for Ryan, who only arrived on a free transfer from Peterborough United last summer.

He made 26 appearances during his time with the club, scoring four goals, including one in the 4-1 thrashing of Darlington earlier in the season.

Looks like Ryan has taken the opportunity to link up again with his old manager from his Doncaster day's, Dave Pennney.

The word on the street's of Boston is that as one of the top earners, Ryan had to go.

Although the official line is that Lee Cannoville is staying at Boston there is a story going around that is said to have started in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph that Cannoville played in a Posh trials match the other day.

One thing is certain after a threatened player strike when the December salaries were late, cash at Boston United is about as rare as rocking horse sh** and consistent with previous seasons, all the high earners are being ushered out of the door.
