Lunt set to leave Wednesday
Former Crewe player Kenny Lunt looks set to leave Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
Wednesday boss Brian Laws will allow the midfielder who has one year left on his current contract to leave Hillsborough on a free if he can fix himself up with a new club this summer.
Lunt spent the end of the 2007/08 campaign on loan with Crewe and it is unclear whether Steve Holland is interested in bringing Lunt back to South Cheshire on a permanent basis.
Kenny is believed to be on a big contract at Wednesday and even if Holland was interested in bring him back it is believed wages would be a big stumbling block with other league one clubs interested in securing his services.
Holland told the official site "We were allowed to handle their wages short term given our situation, but I think it is highly unlikely we would be in a position to sign those players permanently given that obstacle," admitted the coach. "They would be well out of reach in terms of the salaries they earned."
