Coventry2 v 1 Sunderland

Well, Folks another fine day out at the Ricoh well it was if you supported Coventry. I have to say I really admire the Sunderland fans for their devotion and the support they give their team, I would also add the last time (two years ago) that Sunderland lost in the opening game of the season to Coventry they went on to win the Championship with record points score.

Not the greatest of game though, Sunderland control the ball well in the first twenty minutes with some very tidy short ball passing moves and Murohy went very close with a header. For all their domination though they only created that one chance on goal

Coventry then came into their own and created several chances forcing a good save from the keeper and hitting the woodwork.

Second half followed the first half pattern with Sunderland dominating the first period and snatching a scrambled goal, I think they then sta back and let Coventry come on.

Coventry were not convincing until an individual piece of work By Stern John , turning and shooting from 18 yards levelled. However Sunderland went completely to sleep six minutes latter when from a free kick McSheffery walked through the defence to take the points.

Both teams looked very tired in the last ten minutes..

I had a great time three points in the bag, as for Sunderland, that is one of your more difficult away games the others have yet to visit.

This was a good result for Coventry, it should set you up for promising season. Teams always need a win when their first game is at home, cos the next two games are generallly away fixtures

Good result

But Sunderland are still finding their feet again aren't they?
