The Sky Blue Song

"Let's all sing together,
Play up Sky Blues,
While we sing together,
We will never lose.
Tottenham or Chelsea,
United or anyone,
They shan't defeat us,
We'll fight till the game is won."

- Words by Jimmy Hill

Let's all sing together
Play up, Sky Blues
While we sing together
We will never lose
Proud Posh or Cobblers
Oysters* or anyone
They shan't defeat us
We'll fight 'til the game is won!

*the name changed to that days opponents.

This is the original version and no i'm not old enough to have sang it

When Bradford City played Coventry went to away game and that song realy gets on your tits and is sung about 20 times! - Suppose its a bit more imaginative though than City til I die that we sing.

It got on my tits when they sung it at Hillsborough in the FA Cup Semi, i hated Coventry for a couple of years after that game.

We adopted from your lot on that day the noise you made when you won a corner and still do it to this day

The only team I can find nicknamed the Oysters were Colchester Town but they disbandied in 1937 long before the inception of the sky blue song

I'm sorry to say its one of only two songs the Coventry faithful ahve to sing, the other being in our Coventry homes......

Play up sky blues of course based on the Eaton Boating Song......I think Coventry have on of the quietist home supports in the league when it comes to chanting, its almost frowned upon in the Tesco Stand.
