David McNamee linked with Aberdeen

COVENTRY CITY full-back David McNamee has today been linked with a move to Aberdeen.

The talented Scottish right-back has been blighted with injuries since his move from Livingston two years ago.

However the Evening Express says that Jimmy Calderwood is considering swooping for the defender - if Alan Maybury turns down Aberdeen's contract offer.

Last month, Chris Coleman challenged McNamee to prove his fitness - if he wants a new contract.

Coleman said: "I will be talking to David's agent and discuss the situation with him.

"His ability is not an issue but what is is his injury problem which kept him out for five or six months last season.

"Whether we can get him back to play the pre-season and have a look at him, we will have to see.

"But he knows he has to prove his fitness because we have to be 100 per cent certain that he will stay fit. That is the only question mark at the moment."
