Karl Duguid says Colchester are determined to live up to their billing as one of the promotion favourites in League One next season.
The Us finished last term bottom of the Championship, but midfielder Duguid believes Geraint Williams' side are now poised to challenge the likes of Leeds and Leicester for a top-six spot.
"We know that we all under-achieved as players last season," Duguid told the East Anglian Daily Times.
"We could and should have done a lot better.
"We know we have a good squad and we'll be looking to prove the bookies right with their [promotion] odds."
