Leeds United Fans - What do you think?

The Leeds United Football Club administration debacle seems to be going from bad to worse.. The FA have now docked 15 points from Leeds United going into the 2007/8 season.Ken Bates the new (so called) owner is no stranger to debt or illegal dealings. When he sold Chelsea to Abramovich for £17 million, the club was reportedly £90 million in debt. According to Wikipedia, Bates had an earlier brush with misfortune when thousands of investors in Irish Trust Bank were left out of pocket back in 1976. Elland Road (the Leeds stadium) is owned by Teak Trading Corporation Ltd based in the British Virgin Islands. Is that a Bates owned corporation? I’ve not been able to find out but maybe others can. There is a genuine fear the club may still fall apart. KPMG have not seen any management accounts from the company that is running the club since bates took over. Similarly, there are questions over who is handling the season ticket money??What do you know about Mr Bates??

that hes one dodgy geezer. Arrogant, rude, corrupt. I really feel for the fans, question should be would they rather the 15 points back and get rid of KB or keep KB and loose the 15 points....If I was a fan I would want the points back.

I am a leeds fan and I think what the FA have done and the rest of the Football League Chairman is disgusting. To have Ken Bates as the owner of Leeds and then the FA to rub salt in the wounds with the points penalty, is not on. It not the Players fault they have gone into administration, it the so called Board. The FA need to sort them out., and not penalise the players or fans.Best of Luck Leeds United, you are going to need it, we want to see you at Old Trafford again.

I've been a Leeds fan all my life, and will always stick by my club through thick and thin, but that doesn't mean I stand by that crook Ken Bates. I think it's disgraceful that the team should be punished on a sporting level for what was a boardroom misdemeanour. It's not Mr Bates who'll suffer, but the team and we poor fans, and the FA should know that.

when i was a teenager he saved my club chelsea when he bought them for a quid, paid off the debts and took on property developers who wanted to buy stamford bridge after being sold many shares buy the previous dodgy regime...for that period in the game in my opinion he is a hero...he also sold chelsea to abramovic when chelsea were virtually bust after chasing the same dream as leeds...at least chelsea had something to sell in one of the most highly sought after regions in london....i dont quite know wot hes doing at leeds but i have to say that i fear the worst....just wot dire situation did peter ridsdale leave u in as he and that board are the main contributors to ur downfall...i dont agree with a points deduction, but i think that the general footballing public should be able to see leeds utd accounts so we can try to understand wot all this stuff is all about...i miss the great rivalry between our clubs and hope u come back soon...good luck anyhow

The questions about the S/T money relate to the administration arrangements. The money has allegedly been 'ring-fenced'.Ken Bates is definitely a dodgy geezer, but no less dodgy than Man City's new owner. The Glazers aren't exactly squeaky clean either, and neither was Freddy Shepherd at Newcastle. Time will tell if Bates is the right man for the job, I mean things weren't exactly going swimmingly at my club before Bates got there were they?As far as I'm concerened the 15 point deduction is totally unwarranted, as we have not intentionally broken any laws,(neither the laws of the land or FL ones) we have just been caught in the conflict between the 2, which is something other clubs would do well to bear in mind when they end up in our situation and need our support at an appeal!

Personally I agree with Dr OXO.It does look as if we are going completly downhill! But we will one day ( Hopefully within around 5/6 seasons ) be making a comeback into Premiership.Keep the hope alive and keep believing LUFC fans.I actually don't know much about Bates, hopefully he can help sort this out, maybe we should support him a little more, he could be good for us, but he could also be a big mistake, only future time can tell.

THOSE STUPID ADMINISTRATORS SHOULD NOT HAVE SOLD THE CLUB BACK TO HIM HE IS BAD NEWS. I HATE HIM. THEY COULD HAVE SOLD THE CLUB TO DON REVIE'S SONS BUT NO SELL IT THE PERSON WHO THEY KNOW IS NAD FOR THE CLUB. IF HE WAS A BIG MAN HE WOULD SAY BUY TO THE CLUB AND LET SOMEONE ELSE HAVE THE CLUB. IT'S UNFAIR TO THE PLAYERS AND MOSTLY THE LOYAL FANS STUCK BY THEM THROUGH AND WILL ALWAYS STICK BY THEM. I'VE SAID THIS BEFORE I DON'T CARE IF THEY GO DOWN TO THE CONFERENCE I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT LEEDS WITH OR WITHOUT KEN BATES AND DENNIS WISE. 4EVA LEEDZ UNITED
