Barcelona want Chelsea star Lampard in swap deal

Barcelona have stepped in to thwart any bid from Inter Milan for Chelsea’s England international midfielder Frank Lampard.

Jose Mourinho has targeted Lampard as his top priority for next season however Barcelona who are already in discussions with Chelsea over other players have made it clear that they also would be interested in Lampard if he is available and that they are prepared to include him in any deal involving Ronaldinho, Eto’o and Deco.

Additionally Frank Lampards girlfriend is Spanish and a move to Spain would be more suited than a move to Italy, however one cannot underestimate the bond between Mourinho and Lampard.

Barcelona will look at any combination of deals including cash only, player swap plus cash to snatch Lampard from Inter, that said Barcelona have also lined under Pirlo of AC Milan as a midfield replacement for Deco in the event that they don’t get the Chelsea midfielder.

Chelsea are becoming resigned to the fact that Lampard will join Drogba in leaving the club, at the same time Barcelona are also resigned to losing Et0’o Deco and Ronaldinho and all this considered it would seem that Barcelona and not Inter are in the driving seat in any potential deals with Chelsea.
