Scolari named as Chelsea manager

Chelsea have named Luiz Felipe Scolari as their new manager in succession to Avram Grant.

Scolari, who is currently in charge of Portugal at Euro 2008, will take over at Stamford Bridge on 1 July.

He hasn't managed at club level for a few years and i don't think he's ever managed a European club. He speaks no English and at 60 years old he's not exactly a spring chicken. Personally i think the bloke is over-rated but time will tell

But Big Phil does now how to put a winning team together. I think he'll stay for a few seasons. They'll then look at getting a younger man in to assist before taking over.

Supposedly he speaks quite good English and has been learning it ever since he turned down the England job.
