Lampard in mourning

Frank Lampard could miss the title showdown with Man Utd this weekend and the 2nd Leg of the Champions League Semi Final against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge following the death of his mother from pneumonia. Pat Lampard 58, wife of West Ham legend, Frank Senior, had been taken ill on April 14th and rushed to Whipps Cross Hospital in North East London. Her condition had improved somewhat but then deteriorated again before the Wigan game. The club have given Lampard compassionate leave during this difficult time. Pat's sister is married to Portsmouth Boss, Harry Redknapp.

Very sad to hear . Thoughts are with Frank and his family.

Ive never been his biggest fan but the lad has shown some real guts to play through this very sad time and has acted with great dignity. There is more to life than football and I hope he and his close knit family can get through this very sad time.

My sympathy goes out to his family, in these circumstances everything gets put into perspective. Family is everything
