Hi all.
Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard today declared that he'd welcome any moves on the part of the club hierarchy to land Chelsea forward Didier Drogba along with Racing Santander's Ezequiel Garay...
Rijkaard told Sport.es that the arrival of the Ivorian striker would certainly be something for him to consider.
He beamed, "If Barça have the chance to sign a player like Drogba then we should go for it."
This contradicts yesterday's speculation that the club hierarchy are none too keen on a move for Drogba, who has declared an interest in a move to either Catalunya or Milan.
However, Rijkaard categorically ruled out the idea of a swap deal involving Samuel Eto'o in order to land the Chelsea man.
As for Ezequiel Garay, who is on the verge of a move from Racing Santander, the Dutch coach said, "He's an interesting player for the future of FC Barcelona."
Garay himself is delighted with the prospect of a move to Camp Nou, and is seen by the club as a long-term replacement for Lilian Thuram.
Kind Regards
