I don't think you realise how much we hate him Jibbers. If he came back on a permanent deal he'd struggle to win the fans over, this is a loan deal and he'd be going back in January. The thing about Smith is he said he was Leeds through and through, as well as being quoted saying he hated Man U more than any other club. Leeds were always gonna lose him, but he should have gone to Liverpool

Thing about Bates and Wise is they are there to WIN football matches, to do that you need good players. Fans will take a back seat, its position in league that wins points and MONEY. Would you rather go down or Smith Keep you up Beefy? If you go down next stop Bradford Park Avenue if your lucky as you will go under. Pride is great but when your in a position like you are you need points/money which means players of better quality which means better league status

Wise on Smith
United manager Dennis Wise admitted he would "love" to bring Alan Smith back to Elland Road if the opportunity arises.

The former Elland Road favourite was linked with a loan move to Cardiff City on Friday, and Dennis was quizzed at his weekly media briefing about whether Leeds would be interested in Smith.

"Alan Smith is one person I would be interested in," said the ambitious United boss.

"It's not about big names, it's the type of player you've got and with him you know what you are geting.

"He would give you everything he can possibly give you so yes, he is the type of player we'd love to have. He's the type of person you want and he's a fantastic player.

"I think it would be a boost for the team, the fans and the club."

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated that he believes a short-term loan spell would benefit Smith.

Spencer I hope your right!! Smith would do a fantastis job for you!! I watched when he used to play for Leeds City boys (luckily never had to play aginst him) if he is in your side you can guarentee the two centre backs will look at each other and say 'not marking him you can have him'

Smith would not go back to Leeds to be invovled in a relegation battle i don,t think he will go to any side in the championship unless the mighty Barnsley make an approch.
