Cardiff City face winding-up order

Championship high-fliers Cardiff City today won ten weeks of breathing space from moves by the taxman to have them wound up at London's High Court

Mrs Registrar Derrett adjourned the winding up moves brought against the club by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs for 70 days to give the Bluebirds time to settle their undisclosed debt.

The matter will return to court on 3 February, and if the debt is not paid by then, a Registrar is likely to make a winding up order against the club unless good reason is given.

Had the club been wound up today, its affairs would have been effectively handed over to an Official Receiver.

Peter Ridsdale strikes again, the bloke should come with a health warning. Cardiff are doing the best they've done for years on the pitch too

If they have put next season's season tickets on sale already, that to me says they are desperate for revenue right now and I dare say it doesn't look at all rosy at Cardiff City FC

Ridsdale should be banned from involvement in football clubs. Surely the Football League have to do something about him now. The man is a buffoon.

Stop being nice to him ...

I could think of much more appropriate words to describe Ridsdale....the kind I associate with a certain Mr Noades

Seems the investment from Datuk Chan Tien Ghee is what stopped the winding-up order but there is still a 70-day deadline in place to pay the unpaid debts. Its got to be worrying times for Cardiff fans and they apparently still owe money to Sam Hamann. Risdale is like a walking curse for any football club he is involved in.
