Fortune-West joins York on loan
Fortune-West has scored six times for Cambridge this season
York City have swooped to sign veteran striker Leo Fortune-West from Blue Square Premier rivals Cambridge United.
The 36-year-old has moved to KitKat Crescent on loan until the end of the season but will not be permitted to play against the U's.
Fortune-West joined Cambridge last summer and scored six times for Jimmy Quinn's side.
City boss Colin Walker told BBC Radio York: "He has vast experience. I think he will help the younger players."
Walker made his move after allowing Chris Beardsley to join Kettering and releasing Paul Brayson.
He's a gentle giant off the pitch but I think we all know that he's not when he's on it

"We've got Farrell, Woolford, Brodie and Sodje, who have all got great qualities," said Walker.
"But none of them have got the know how to hold up play and bring people into play.
"He's a gentle giant off the pitch, but I think we all know that he's not when he's on it."
Fortune-West will have to wait before making his debut for York. He is cup tied for the FA Trophy game against Farsley Celtic on Sunday.
