Grant Holt to sign?

Rumours abound on different City and Forest forums that Grant Holt will be signing for the Vickys this week, if so strange decision from Colin Calderwood nearly as strange as loaning a player to your rivals and paying 1/2 his wages at the same time

Nottingham Forest have accepted a bid from League One rivals Bristol City for Grant Holt, skysports.com understand.

The 25-year-old only joined Forest last January when they paid Rochdale £300,000 for his services.

Now despite some eight goals already this season, Forest boss Colin Calderwood is ready to let Holt leave The City Ground.

Holt himself is understood to be more than happy with life at Forest - but is now preparing to hold talks with The Robins about a possible move to Ashton Gate.

City are believed to have offered a similar sum to that which Forest paid for Holt and are looking to seal a quick deal to fend off any rival interest.

Holts' mrs is about to drop any time soon. This is being talked about on BCFC and NFFC sites as the reason it is off for now as City agreed a fee.
