City stars jailed

Three Bristol City players have been jailed following a brawl outside a city centre nightclub last year.

Wales international David Partridge has been given a two-month sentence while Steve Brooker and Bradley Orr have both been jailed for 28 days.

Partridge admitted affray and causing actual bodily harm during the altercation last October with Brooker and Orr both admitting their part in the affray.

Violence flared after Partridge was ejected from the Romeo Browns nightspot in Bristol city centre. The 27-year-old became involved in a fight with the club's doormen before his team-mates joined in.

A fourth player, Scott Brown, has been ordered to do 100 hours of community service after admitting a Section 4 Public Order Act offence.

The loss of Brooker will be a major blow for The Robins as he now misses virtually their entire September fixture list, a total of six League One matches.

Bristol City centre back David Partridge has expressed his remorse over a custodial sentence for his part in a nightclub brawl last year.

The Wales international, who had been on loan at League One rivals Leyton Orient this season, served half of a two-month jail sentence after pleading guilty to affray and causing actual bodily harm.

Partridge was jailed after he and team-mates Steve Brooker and Bradley Orr were involved in a nightclub brawl in Bristol city centre last October.

Brooker and Orr were each given 28-day sentences for their part in the incident, with the pair serving just a fortnight behind bars.

Upon his release from jail, Partridge met with Robins chairman Steve Lansdown and vice-chairman Keith Dawe, where he was warned about his future conduct.

The former West Ham United, Dundee United and Motherwell player is now looking to restore himself in Gary Johnson's squad.

"I regret everything that happened and I apologise to the supporters, staff and players at this football club," Partridge told the club's official website.

"This has been a very difficult time for me. I've been given another chance, which I am very grateful for.

"All I'm interested in now is getting fit again and concentrating fully on football for Bristol City once more."
