City to get new ground
Bristol City have announced plans for a new 30,000 capacity stadium.
At the Championship club's annual general meeting on Thursday a spokesman said a site in south Bristol was already earmarked for the development. The club hopes planning permission will be in place by the end of 2009 and the new stadium will be ready in time for the 2011/2012 season. Its aim is to be able to host World Cup games, in which case capacity could increase to 40,000 if approved.
