Halifax 1-2 Stevenage
Halifax averted relegation despite a narrow defeat by Stevenage at The Shay.
Steve Morison had put Borough ahead midway through the first half before Gavin Grant struck from the edge of the area to double the advantage.
Morison turned from hero to villain when he handballed inside the area and Jon Shaw tucked away the penalty.
Town were unable to force a second, making for an anxious conclusion for their fans until news filtered in of Altrincham's result.
Altrincham's draw with Weymouth left Town a point clear of the drop zone leaving to look forward to Blue Square Premier football next season.
