Enckelman released

Goalkeeper Peter Enckelman has been released by Blackburn Rovers just two days after his Wembley clanger cost Cardiff City the FA Cup.

The Finn, who has been on loan at Championship side Cardiff, has been told by boss Mark Hughes that his Blackburn contract will not be renewed.

Enckelman's error gifted Portsmouth striker Kanu the only goal in Saturday's FA Cup final.

But he has been offered a permanent deal by Cardiff manager Dave Jones.

When I think of Peter Enckelman I can't help but remember the howler against Birmingham when he was at Villa ...
