Hull Linked With Kāzim-Richards

Newly-promoted Hull City are reportedly hoping to bolster their squad ahead of their Premier League adventure by swooping for Turkey and Fenerbahce winger Colin Kazim-Richards.

The Tigers, promoted via the play-offs, are set to break their own modest transfer record by bidding £2m for the 21-year-old. The £1m spent bringing Caleb Foran from Wigan last summer is the current benchmark.

Arsenal fan Kazim-Richards was born in Leytonstone and moved to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce last summer following a stint with Sheffield United. He bagged his first goal for the Sarı kanaryalar in the Champions League quarter-finals against Premiership giants Chelsea.

The English-born player, known as Kāzım Kāzım for international purposes, has impressed at Euro 2008 for the plucky Turks. Hull bos Phil Brown hopes manager-less Fenerbahce will let him return to England, but knows he'll have to fork out steep wages of around £25,000-a-week.

The reports come after the Tigers had a £2m bid rejected for Plymouth's Hungary winger Peter Halmosi. Argyle are holding out for closer to £3m.
