Under 21's Win

England U21s booked their place in the semi-finals of the European Championship after a win over Serbia which was marred by monkey chants, a mass brawl, a sending off and fighting in the tunnel.

Goals from Leroy Lita (5) and Matt Derbyshire (76) secured the win, but the game will be remembered for the events other than the result.

Uefa will investigate monkey chants aimed at Nedum Onuoha by Serbian fans during the first-half, which prompted officials to issue warnings over the tannoy.

The reaction of Serbian players after England's second goal is also likely to be investigated - after several members of the team tried to confront Derbyshire, claiming he should have put the ball out of play beforehand.

The match was held up following the mass brawl - though remarkably England's James Milner and Serbia's Gojko Kacar were the only players booked.

There was still plenty of drama to come - with Tom Huddlestone sent off just two minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute, apparently for dissent.

And afterwards both sides again came to blows in the tunnel, with Leroy Lita claiming on Sky Sports that he and Jusitn Hoyte were racially abused by the opposition players.

The win was enough for England to finish second in Group B, with Serbia winners despite losing this match.

Italy's 3-1 win over Czech Republic proved in vain, as they exit the competition after finishing third in the group.
