Nottingham Forest have accepted a bid from League One rivals Bristol City for Grant Holt, skysports.com understand.
The 25-year-old only joined Forest last January when they paid Rochdale £300,000 for his services.
Now despite some eight goals already this season, Forest boss Colin Calderwood is ready to let Holt leave The City Ground.
Holt himself is understood to be more than happy with life at Forest - but is now preparing to hold talks with The Robins about a possible move to Ashton Gate.
City are believed to have offered a similar sum to that which Forest paid for Holt and are looking to seal a quick deal to fend off any rival interest.
