David Beckham has dismissed Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon's claim that he has decided to retire in two years' time.
The Madrid supremo stated that he was under the impression that Beckham would end his career at the Bernabeu, if he concurs on a new two-year deal.
However, this claim has been denied by a spokesman for the former Manchester United wide man, who had previously intimated a desire to close his playing days in America.
The 31-year-old insists he is concentrating soley on his football and that contrary to reports, he has no intention of hanging up his boots prematurely.
"Talk of retirement is a complete surprise to us," read a statement.
"No-one has ever discussed a retirement date.
"David's only concern is to play for Real Madrid and win things at the club."
